  1. I have a spare WD in fab condition for £100...no factory sleeve, mind!
  2. Quality, quality Cross-over Soul of the highest order:
  3. That's my fave track from that outfit Great group...here's another, 'Twice As Much For My baby' / 'Sweet Lorene'.
  4. ...as is his, 'I Can't Put You Down' / 'We Must have Love'.
  5. I used to avidly collect Soul/Popcorn releases on Decca for many a year...so many cracking tunes! Here's a not so well known romper stomper of a tune that the Latin fans would appreciate...kinda like Gerri Granger's 'Why can't it be tonight' on steroids with a screaming sax break!
  6. I have this one spare if anyone fancies it...great dance track...rarer demo copy. Press this link: >>> Sales Pages <<<
  7. This is my copy of 'Rescue Me'...VERY rare on Japanese Globe...great sleeve as well!
  8. Willie Kendrick Change Your Ways / Whats That On Your Finger RCA WD A bonafide classic..quality double-sider! Clean labels both sides with no fading, pen or sticker marks. Vinyl plays mint both sides - no scratches or marks...nice copy! Pics are of actual record for sale. £295 + £5 P&P worldwide Payment £UK cheque or bank transfer...no Paypal.
  9. Wonder why 'DECCA' is written to the right of the label on this release?
  10. Are you referring to Preston Peters - You Can't Measure Your Love - MM Enterprises...the old 'Saxie Russell' c/up from Stafford? There are lots of miss-pressed copies of that one that play a ballad rather than the upbeat R'n'B mover.
  11. Northern Soul vs. Spector...best read then...Tammy twats any Spectoresque over the top yet never making it to the top performance every time...especially thrice on stormy Mondays! Tell you what, you stick to your port and lemon and scratch your chin in the record room, and I'll go for the cherry Vimto (on Ken's recommendation) and the throw myself around on a dancefloor having fun to the poppy stomper...ans she is better looking than Jerry.
  12. Alas, your argument does not hold water, as you consider Jerry Ganey to be superior to Chris Morgan...I mean really, come on! I fear the port has addled your brain...please stick to Vimto in the future...damn...you had to mention Vimto didn't you...I can't get it over here and now have a craving for a can of the magically chemical tasting brew!
  13. Thanks for your message of support, Mike, but I fear I may be a hopeless case. You see, on watching the YouTube clip of the Chiffons performing their rendition, my original thoughts were supported as in the lead vocalist gives it zero enthusiasm or emotion, and the backing ladies girl-groupify (!) it up to make the NS level drop. Tammy however, belts it out with attitude over a full-on backing track. Game over. What say you, paup-ine?! Adieu!
  14. Rare on UK, mighty rare on Australian...sooo desirable on Japanese!?! Here is my Japanese MCA copy...and oh look there is also a test press 45 of two tracks taken from the LP...could it be!?!?!?!?!
  15. I believe it was December 5th 1981, as I recall...I was there!
  16. What's the insert look like/feature?
  17. Jeez, where do you start with such a prolific writer singer? I'll tell you what, I'll approach it from the more modern era...his worldwide hit, 'Being with you'! When this was in the charts I detested it...it did nothing for me other than want to turn the radio off! HOWEVER, many, many years later I heard it whilst in a shop and WHAMMY it suddenly made sense...don't know why, it just did! I quickly picked up a Japanese press of it and now I think it is a superb track...a latter day classic...timeless!
  18. Here's the silver label copy I sold on here many moons ago.
  19. Hello. My name is David and I prefer the Tammy St.John version. Thank you.
  20. I once had the pleasure of listening to some tapes of Jamie/Guyden recordings...lots of alternate takes/mixes etc. There was also one uptempo Motown-ish instrumental that I could never pin point down...maybe unissued was the comment. Then, many years later I found myself in a little shop in deepest Tokyo and I played an oddball Jamie label 45 from an artist I'd never come across...and lo and behold it was the very same instrumental! I'll try and load a soundfile later this week, time permitting...feel free to guess what it may be...very obscure!!
  21. Thanks for info, chaps (Copy for sale at a very reasonable £75 )
  22. Ston-Roc Records A division of TAC Theatrical Enterprises. Suite 608, 1346 Broadway Detroit, Michigan. 'The Motor City 45 RPM Sound!' SR 101/2 Tony & Tyrone - I May Not Have / A Fool Am I (R4KM-679/10) TAC 6711 Tony & Tyrone - Talking About The People / Don't Ever Leave Me (R4KM-6711/2) 814T 0761 Ronny Shannon - One Way Street / Hot Stuff (TK4M-0761/2) 814T-4663 Ronny Shannon - Determination / You're Gonna Need Me (T4KM-4663/4) All produced by Ted White and all pretty good Detroit/Northern...are there any other releases on this label? Any photos of Ronny Shannon?
  23. Here's one that I'm surprised hasn't received more scene spins given the Funky edge feel to it, well in vogue nowadays! Plus it has a heavy bassline and wailing harmonica...gritty...love it! Looking at the credits MAC and Ed Thomas leads me to think that this could possibly be Dorothy Moore (aka Cambridge)?
  24. Shame the 1st press of Ann D'Andrea doesn't feature the instrumental only found on the reissue. That backing track rocks!
  25. I see Manship is auctioning a copy of his 'Just The Other Day' at the moment...quite tough on a stock copy, as are a few of the Abet releases. Sometimes you gotta curse those double-sided demos!?! Here's another one worth checking out if you like JTOD...and dare I say this one is rarer...especially on a stock copy to get both sides: Bring My Baby On Home / That's What Love Will Do - Abet 9423 BMBOH is another mid-paced super-Soulful mover...has anyone ever played it out?
