Debonettes - Tears - Merry
The lack of PM's I received means I think you might be right about the price... so, has anyone got a copy for £150, please?

Debonettes - Tears - Merry
I'd like a clean copy of this, if someone can oblige... I was thinking about £75 for it

The Knightsmen: B.t.o. / If I Told You (coconut Groove)
I see thousands of records for sale on the internet, every day of my life. Like most people I browse through them and then move on, or if I want one, I place a bid, email the seller, make a credit card payment or whatever is appropriate. I do not waste time out of my day by stopping to pass comment. I have already made this point, but I'll make it again: by having a pop at my auction, you are effectively taking money out of my pocket. In some walks of life, this is enough to get a good beating. As a peaceful record dealer, I am not about to do anything other than get mildly annoyed, but please have the decency to keep your opinions to yourself, at least until I've flogged the bloody thing!!

The Knightsmen: B.t.o. / If I Told You (coconut Groove)
Sorry for doing the uncovering, I didn't know it was getting played anywhere. And thanks for getting in touch, it seems I could use some help - first ebay change their rules without telling anyone, which is why I decided to do it this way in the first place, & now armchair critics think it's fair game to to take a pop at currently active private sales...

The Knightsmen: B.t.o. / If I Told You (coconut Groove)
I'm taking offers for a week on this mega-rarity from Mt. Morris, Michigan, ending 6p.m. GMT on Friday July 14th. The 100mph A side is a driving dancefloor rocket that has strong mod appeal, while the flip starts with a break reminiscent of J.C. Davis' "A New Day" before settling into organ-driven group harmony. VG/VG+ condition with writing on the B.T.O. side, and some pretty light ringwear. Have a listen: THE KNIGHTSMEN My email address is george@concourserecords.com. cheers, George www.concourserecords.com

Mellow Madness 45
I'm coming to Berlin with the "hot box" and the missus in a couple of weeks as it happens... I'll be DJing at the Lovelite on the 17th, it's a funk night but I'll be slipping some interesting crossover stuff in. Hoping the hair won't be too asymmetrical of course...

Mellow Madness 45
By the way, hi there Simon - long time no see!

Mellow Madness 45
Kenny Dope often seems to cock up perfectly good songs with his remixes. He tends to extend breaks, which usually serves to drain the energy from a song - he virtually managed to turn the Johnny King 12" into a house record by messing around with the structure so much. There's a good reason why original copies of big records are worth obscene money in the first place, i.e. loads of people think they're brilliant. In which case, why does KD think he knows better than hundreds of soul connoisseurs? Mucking about with bona fide killers just seems stupid to me. So, the fun of going out to hear Dave Ripolles, Butch, Trouble etc. play Mellow Madness has been spoiled a bit, because you can now hear a bloke with a daft asymmetrical haircut giving it a spin in your local trendy bar. But judging by that clip, the remixed repress won't sound like a proper copy... In other words, this record "has been shat on, but not flushed away"!

Dontee Label
That's the loonie Manship auction price though, surely it's not actually "worth" that much...

Dontee Label
Dontee 104 is killer funk, a very unusual record in a "low budget Temptations on drugs" style. There are 5 records on the label as far as I know, though I'd be really interested to know if there were more: 100 Blendells - Did You Mean / You Mean Love (1969) 101 Contemplations - Alone With No Love (vocal) / instrumental (Dontee Studio Band) (1969) 102 Summitts - I Can't Get Over Losing You / I Can't Get Over Losing You (Instrumental with Dontee Studio Band) 103 Rock Candy - I Don't Think I'll Ever Love Another / Alone With No Love (Contemplations) (1971) 104 Blendels - Beware / Instrumental (taken from dcsoulrecordings.com)
