  1. Agree with John - def. the flip for me. A tough 45 to find for sure. 'Eye For An Eye' - bloody tough tune too. Love it! Rich
  2. Sincerely hope not Albert. Isn't one of the guys involved with the record selling them on here? Maybe he knows? If they are boots it certainly doesn't take long! Rich

    Thanks Joan. Appreciate that. Rich
  4. Understand Ian totally - And you have to be very lax on the margins and terms to deal with soeone like HMV. Have you tried people like Shellshock and Hot distribution? Rich

Gasher's just out up a 100% Poison Vince Rich
  7. Thanks Tony - Knew you'd pick up on this! I guess from an indie point of view it makes sense to release the material financially. From your own point of view is there still material in cans from other big labels such as your Brunswicks etc? How strong is the market these days for this? Thanks for the info too Boba - What is it with fires & theft???!! Rich
  8. Didn't know about the Atlantic fire Ady, Cheers for that. A crying shame considering the depth & breadth of artists the label had. I would have laid money on there being a ton of material in the can at the Chess group as well as major indies etc. Rich
  9. Soulful Sound Of Music - Sound Of B'Ham Acetate Steve. Rich
  10. 4 Tops Demo £108 Sandra Phillips LP - £93 Lynn Tanner - £274 Carl Douglas - £182 Durettes - £214 Barbara Mason - £42 Freddie Chavez - £609 Lewis Clark - £292 Carolyn Crawford - £100 Eddie Billups - £1744 Oxfords - £458 Sage - £581 Anderson Bros - £990 Bobby Dobyne - £275 Don & Debbie - £283 Carl Spencer - £316 Rich
  11. Not sure if this has been discussed before.. Just thinking of the recent Motown Cellarfull series etc with unissed Motown. Has there or (will there) be similar material from the likes of the Chess & Atlantic catalogue? There has to have been so much recorded during the 60s/70s etc. will any see the light of day? There has to be more surely from the sheer depth and variety labels such as the Chess group had? Jap releases only? Or long since deleted CD's? Also interested in the likes of Alston & Glades if anyone knows any info.

Little tip - There's Percys' excellent version of 'Rainbow Road' on the flip to 'Standing' (Unless it's a s/b 45). Classic Quin Ivy production! Rich
  13. I knew I was right Joan... Mint LaBeat 45s though... Did I hear right a lot of the stock got damaged in a flood or something similar? Rich
  14. Not unless there was a years free supply of Jimmy Choos with em Joan... Rich
  15. A cool $10k spent just like that in an hour... Rich
  16. BTW - If you ask nicely they'll give you the Point Of Sale material if no-ones bagged it already! Had some great stuff like that from them which quickly went on ebay.... Rich
  17. And? It caught your attention and no doubt others too. Punter sees Duffy Cd on some great big whopping display - Mmm I like they say. What else? Ooh whats this Talcum Soul thing? And so on... Despite what many think of the main chains - Whilst at HMV we were very actively encouraged to promote music however mainstream or obscure. Whilst being a 'Soul & Dance' buyer I very much promoted indie releases on listening posts etc. I clearly remember one week selling 20 odd copies of the Sean Oliver CD purely off recc. and sticking it on the listening post! People do have taste - Some just need it sticking in their faces. Rich
  18. Being an ex-HMV manager I can see where they're coming from - Had a peep in the Leeds store a few weeks back and they racked Duffy etc with Northern comps. Just a pure marketing exercise and get those 'add on' sales. However things like that will always pull in some new faces so can't be all bad eh? Rich
  19. Both now reduced to a quarter of book price... Then back on the shelf/ebay. Rich
  20. PM'd ya fella. Rich
  21. Thanks Roger for the scans. I've seen a few promos in my time but not an issue. Issue rarer folks? Rich
  22. Wasn't implying it was the seller as such - Tho the description could be a tad better. Its the folk who make these boots up that p*** me off. Are there any variations on the original presses? Rich
  23. Apologies if noted before - Just browsing on ebay and saw this: Vibrations Boot Nice 'worn' looking label. Designed to fool the buyer? Dont think much to the description either! I know we bang on about boots etc but it does get my goat up. (Actually thinking about it - it could be just an old worn bootleg.. I didnt know this had been booted actually...) Besides - I think it helps some folk who arent too sure or are new to collecting. By the way - Did this 45 come out on this design or was it only the later orange/blue design? I know the one sold on Manships was grey - Demo was it? Cheers Rich
  24. Added a clip to the Francine plus Alvin Christy 45 added. Cheers Rich
  25. There's been some quiet and steady demand for this over the last year or so. - Me? I like 'Trying To Survive' - Very nice. Rich
