Brenton Wood - Sad news RIP
Was really gutted to hear this, brilliant artist who's often overlooked by loads of people especially in the UK due to his big hit. There was a thread not too long ago discussing him where people were posting all sorts of great underplayed sounds of his - when I checked at the time that thread was floating about he was still touring which is possibly the saddest thing) Here is one I like and play from time to time which was also done by Major Lance but this is the superior version...

Poll: AI - Vocal Soul - Is there a place?
Funny you’ve mentioned that… I’ve said this to friends already but I’m expecting people to start using it to generate alternate versions with different vocalists and pressing them up

Pat Brady's Talk Of The North
Does anybody have scans of this or a copy they can upload images of? I've found a few photos online of the articles but would love to have a look at what else was in it.

German coverage of 'Northern Soul Revival' happening in London
Think some do get caught up in looking and dancing like they’re from a specific point in the history of the scene rather than just enjoying it for what it is.

Manship's Auction Results- Nov. 27, 2024
I beg to differ, this take sounds so much better and more interesting. Especially when hearing it over a decent sound system. Another great example of this is the Lou Johnson's take of The Panic Is On... A much more sparse and spacey production which sounds infinitely better when played by through proper means.

Brilliant unknown Christmas ballad
Wondering if anybody knew who is singing on this track that was uploaded yesterday? Has some incredible instrumentation and arrangement, especially the faster crossover uplifts not to mention the singing... Even if it is about Christmas, it's a great piece of music that i'd like to hear more about / hear more by the vocalist.

- Poll: AI - Vocal Soul - Is there a place?
I actually don't reckon AI will ever have the capacity to challenge authentic creativity... Saw something the other day that people have already noticed when brands are using AI generated advertisement & already initially think that the company can't / won't be great and is a reflection of their business practices in general because they are too cheap to pay for an actual designer. I genuinely think it'll be seen as a novelty fad within the creative sectors. I just can't see AI being able to even begin to replicate, never mind synthesise something like Love Was So Easy by Sidney Barnes on Sids Kids. Not even due to the usual comments of lived experience etc. I just see AI being something which will benefit lots of systems within various industries that will hopefully free up a lot of monotonous day to day stuff within businesses. The less of it we see and hear on the scene, the better.- Chryslers With The Monarchs on Jody
