  3. 19. Ernest Wright - Wherever You Go / Christmas (Surviving Hearts 2804) £50 Very hard to find Philly soul in great nick.
  4. 18. Carmen Cole - I'll never Stand In Your Way / Step Right Up (Groove 0045) £30 White demo of this 45 that books @150. Cheapest copy I've seen here.
  5. 17. Syl Johnson - Please, please, please / I'm Looking For My Baby (Federal 12476) £25 Syl's version of one of the biggest soul classics, backed with an uplifting cut that sounds suited for today's scene.
  6. 16. Leon Gardner - Who Are You / Wonderful World of Children (Igloo 7) £50 Great funky vibes on this sought-after label.
  7. 15. Patty & The Emblems - You Took Advantage of a Good Thing / Music Makes me Want to Dance (Herald 1577) £30 Lovely white demo of this under-played oldie.
  8. 14. Washington Smith - Fat Cat / Don't Take Your Love From Me (Rainbow 502) £25 Very rare local first issue of this uptempo R&B stomper before Okeh. Bargain!
  9. 13. Louis Curry - Captivated / You're Sweeter Than a Cup of Honey (M-S 210) £50 Essential Detroit 45. Close to mint, but there's a sticker on the b-side.
  10. I've seen that Make up your mind-track on here @£15 or so, so it's a real cheapie. It was never issued back in the days, but was released on Kent, and later on this Golden State label. There's been some discussion about the Golden State release not being legit because they didn't own the rights but I decided not to care and just pick it up becuase it's too good not to own it. btw: thanks for the comments, been getting a lot of good reactions so I think i'll start putting vol. 2 together.
  11. Up for sale is an unplayed DJ copy of Benny Sigler's I Can Give You Love / Who You Gonna Turn To on Phil-La of Soul 314. I've never seen such a beautiful copy in my life, and it plays absolutely mint, so you can't go wrong with this one. Only small downside is a sticker on the Who You Gonna Turn To-side, which is actually orange (don't know why it looks white in my scan???), and a very tiny amount of ringwear. The vinyl itself looks unplayed. The scan looks a bit dirty but that's because I should clean my scanner plate and I'm too lazy to scan it again. This one doesn't pop up too often so this is a chance to pick it up at a fair price... It's yours for £300 + 4% paypal fees. Shipping + recorded delivery = £3. First one who pm's gets it. 12. True, but the less money you pay to get your wants, the more you'll be able to get this rush, so I still prefer buying records @ normal prices (or lower of course ) An upside about this high pricing is that you can mention "usually lists @300+, get it now cheap, only 250" The big downside is that it's becoming more and more a waste of time to wade through the sales lists that pop up every day...
  13. Chris Clark - Love's Gone Bad (VIP) Willie Gresham & The Free Food Tickett (Majesty) Cherries & The Rhythm Kings - You Know You Gonna Need me (Della) San Francisco TKO's - Make Up Your Mind (Golden State) Earth Disciples - Getaway Train (Solid State) Bobby Rush - Mary Jane (Galaxy) Dennis Landry - Miss Hard To Get (Soul Unlimited) The Minors - Boom Boom Room (Esprit) Otis Spann - Walkin' (Blue Horizon) Seleno Clarke - Exploitation of Soul (Right-On) The Ventures - Secret Agent Man (Dolton) Joy of Cooking - Only Time Will Tell Me (Capitol) The Turtles - Almost There (White Whale) Count Five - They're Gonna Get You (Double Shot) Buster Benton - Money is The Name of the Game (Jewel) Falcons - (I'm a Fool) I Must Love You (Big Wheel) Ethics - Look At Me Now (Vent) Garland Green - Mr. Misery (Revue) The Liberators - Enemies Are Coming (Version) (Pearl)
  14. Forgot to add: there's a lot of non-northen stuff in there too, so I don't think it'd be something for the purists out there...
  15. Spent a few evenings putting together a blend of some of my favorite 45s. Din't want to go down the route of playing the usual northern classics, so I tried to mix in a few underrated ones too. https://www.laid-back.be/download/dudeski.htm Big ups for the laid-back crew for hosting this!
