A thread like this has probably already popped up before, but I can't find it, so I'm starting a new one... Over the last few weeks i've started wondering... i've encountered thousands and thousands of rare soul 45's, and sometimes i'm even getting the feeling that I know quite a lot about 'em, but when it comes to albums i really don't know anything. Of course I have a few soul LPs, some stuff on the bigger labels like Atco and Stax, but when it comes to "rare" soul albums, I don't own anything and i've only seen a few (the rare stamps LP with Steve Mancha, some Barbara Mason albums). That got me wondering...did groups like The Precisions ever record an album? or some of the Detroit legends that didn't record for Motown? Or does anyone know any other essential soul LPs by artists known in the northern circuit?

My thoughts exactly, maybe it would be a bit more reasonable to give smaller fines, but to more people. I think just fining one woman for that amount of $$$ is just lazy. Minimal input (one lawsuit) with maximal output ($220,000.00), that's how this business works nowadays...

The 7" boxes are cardboard, but it's heavy duty stuff. I've done a few record fairs with it, and people have even used the boxes to sit on, and they're still in good nick. If your german is not all that you can buy the boxes on ebay. their ebay name is protectedgmbh, and you can pay via bank transfer. Shipping costs stay the same, whatever amount of boxes you buy i think.

For 12" records I also use the Expedit , and at that price i think it's a crime not to use it. I should've bought the bigger type though, which has 25 compartiments insteas of 16 for the normal size. I think expedit's spelt without an e in the end, not trying to be a know-it-all, but better get the spelling right if you're looking for something on the net me thinks. For 7" records i use >>>THIS<<<, but i'm looking for something better, some real shelves instead of the boxes.

You lucky bastard! Never seen her live, but i saw a docu about New Orleans soul singers last year with her, and i have to say i was impressed with her live performance! And it was also good to see that she kept a positive view on things after the New Orleans tragedy... The docu was made by a Dutch tv-station and also starred betty lavette etc. If anyone has the docu somewhere on their hard-disk, or a youtube link or something like that, i'd appreciate it, because i want to watch it again!

I'm working on a set sale atm, and wanted to ask just to be sure: Anyone ever encountered a boot of an issue copy of "rosemary, what happened", or is it only the demo copy that was booted? And does anyone know what the matrix number were for the original demo and issue copies?

Great flip-side on the Count Five 45 as well IMO, might well be the only garage 45 in my collection, but for some reason it's a personal fave. Do you have an idea where i can hear the Brenton Wood version somewhere?

Yep, most of 'em are easy to pick up for a few quid, but ther's some great sounds on it, (like the maurice rodgers bit mentioned earlier) All the US issues i've seen were yellow, the demo's also i think. I've got a 60's garage 45 by a band called count five, and it's also on the yellow double shot label, but with a different label design. Anyone know if it's the same label?

Decided to bump this thread because this is such a wonderful 45, especially the boo hoo side! Been on constant rotation since i got it about 6 months ago, and i never seem to get tired of it. If anyone ever encounters a copy of it BUY ON SIGHT! (and no I don't have one for sale, but it should be easy enough to pick up somewhere else)
