The way Record Store Day works, they are not supposed to be available for sale until the actual RSD - and then I guess they'll be available until the stores sell out. Might be worth checking with your nearest participating stores if they're going to stock it, Marc - as I understand it they're under no obligation to carry everything from every company. Your asking might prompt the shop to order it up if they weren't otherwsie planning to! That's kinda why I'm giving everyone a lengthy heads up on this, in fact...

Had to make a few enforced changes to the soultown fri alldayer in the queen vic,but with col woods pete hulatt john weston ged parker carl rhodes and plenty more spinnin a few it will be good.This will be a good chance to hear the kind of tunage that will spun at soultowns new home at the haigh hall allniters,its took a while but we have found the right place to fill the void left by middleton.

Not really Julie. If they'd booked a 4 person chalet and one person dropped out, why not sell it for what they paid for it? All people selling theirs for £35 or what ever are loosing out financially.

Hi Brett ......i take your point mate and have edited my post accordingly. Whats more important is the recognition of the living artist and Jesse James posesses on of the most soulful vocals on the planet ,so distinctive and original. Am a big fan of his work on the gunsmoke label and would have loved to see "you ought to be here with me " on the flip as im sure this will become a big winner after Jesse delivers it to em at Prestatyn .... Probably an old topic but to had a bit of interest to the thread and it is relevant .....the Shirley 45 "are you gonna leave me" lends the same backing as a few other well known tunes .. Which was the original group or artist ??

Nev, I disagree I don't think Shirley release is diminished, far from it, that's still the original, and nothing can change that. It matters not to me if everything got re-issued, because you like me would want the original over anything else. All reissues do in my eyes are to promote the artist and any collector worth his salt would still Chase the original. period.

Brit Hotels have not long taken over the Pontins organisation and I guess it's taken a few weeks to go through the events and costings, then the decision process with budgets for each event, so it's no wonder that it's only coming out at sure a late date. Also for those that never attended the early Prestatyn's or have short memories, the event has been reduced to the format it started with, it was a great weekend then so I can't see why it won't be a great weekend this time around. At the end of the day it's what you make of it, if you want a good time I guess you have a good time regardless of these changes, disappointing as they are.

Looking forward to a brilliant weekender and do appreciate all the hard work being carried out by all promotors Fish/Mark & co...also understand some of Toads points of veiw plus many others...now Fish has explained the situation with the Britania group and the reason behind the delayed announcement...all we can do is show the Britania group what being a soulie is all about and leave Fish/Mark and all others involved to manage these events in the future on behalfs of the Britania group [fingers crossed], we all know money talks and what chance have the Britania chain got in making money within the months of March/October if it wasn't for these Promoters and the people on the Soulscene who make this event the biggest in the country....Roll on next week...Froggy[Preston].
