Recently purchased this Magnificent Seven 45 on 'New Groove'...fabulous piece of haunting northern/garage...got real potential. Never seen it listed anywhere, not in any of the price guides either... What I want to know is are they the same group who recorded on Dial & Eastern?? They are deffo blue eyed. Anyone got any info on the group or heard this New Groove 45? Flip is called 'Farmer John' and has some 60's funk overtones. Any info much appreciated.

Their other one on Music Town is good too 'Does Your Mind Go Wild'...great northern.

The boots are really good! I have one and it is a good quality repro. Original has the 'Frankford & Wayne' stamp in the run-out grooves.

Camden Town....on the right hand side of the road as you go towards the lock from the tube station just after the clothes market place, go downstairs...loads of goodies...soul & ska/reggae on a good day.

This scene did'nt invent the 'cover up'.....Jamaicans were doing it in the 50's & 60's! Mind, they used to scratch the names off the labels!!!!

Hi Roger, I have the green Carrie one which sounds superb! Very clear and quality sound, the Jameco one is on it's way to me soon (I hope) so i'll let you know if there's any difference in the recording. BTW, the Jameco one is credited to Edward Hamilton & The FIFES. Thanks, John

I've done 3 volumes of JA soul from my personal vinyl collection so far, so i'd definitely be up for a swap!

There's another one by Elvis on RCA /Victor....'Let Yourself Go' nice R&B sound, which I first heard at a local soul night in Macclesfield about 5 years ago.

Why? There's been absolutely NO soul for at least 6 months!!! I've finally accepted that they (R.C) hate soul!

A mate of mine who runs a Detroit/Motown site (Richie Harding) once told me that Sharon's son contacted him asking if Richie could track down some of his mothers recordings and how much they were going for. I've seen that photo of her. Nice one about the blue's Pete....that's the one I have in my collection (great flip too). Had the UK Staeside...Ely charity shop 25p. Since traded it for some Rocksteady.

Sharon Soul did come out proper on 'blue' Wild Deuce (1001), the red and white ones are a bit rarer but both legit.

Yeah, and I sold it/traded to Perry for £40. Funny thing is, I originally got it off Perry for nowt!!! Completely agree with your statement about being played out a couple of times (mainly to an 'always' packed dancefloor whatever...like Skeggy) and sometimes certain of these 'ok' and relatively 'untried' records sound fantastic played out loud . Then it's price-hike! If you go through your collection, I bet you'll find loads that need this exposure and they will be 3 figures no worry.
