Seen the Esquires Get on up and get away London LP for £20 in a charity shop window tonight.
Should I get back there sharpish or keep my couple of tenners?????????
Contains the exact same cut of Mill Evans' ultra rare tune on Tousea, 'When I'm Ready' on the album obviously before going solo. They just issued it as Mill Evans instead of Esquires.

Still love Bobby Diamond anyway Gasher, don't care what people think, great blue eyed dancer for clapping to
Remember buying that & Shane Martin on the Columbia specials from Neil Rushton or Soul Bowl, that was the two mail order shops i used to buy from out of the back of Blues & Soul.
Two great blue eyed tunes!
Didn't even realise people were dissing Bobby Diamond...surely not!
First - Johnny Caswell (champion bootleg)
Last (through door yesterday)- Poets (Red Bird)

Part of the conspiracy is that in 1972, Kentucky, Texas recording producer man Colonel Bill Sanders paid Ian Levine to go into the studio, in league with Frank Popp, a child prodigy who was four at the time, to make all these recordings. Steve Brookstein does all the vocals on every Charay or Le Cam release, apart from those by Pic and Bill, who are actually Frankie and Johnny, who are Frankie Howard and June Whitfield on the earlier releases, and Terry Scott (of The Scott Brothers and The Whispers, a group which included brothers Wally and Wally Scott of The Reflections and Tony Micheals who did the original version of '6X6' on the spoons) and June Whitfield (who's big hit 'The Human Race' was voiced by Junie Morrison of the Ohio Players who used to be The Ohio Untouchables, and Indian group of low caste and who's members at one time included Wilson Pickett (Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys brother) Eddie Floyd, (brother of King Floyd and Floyd Smith) Sir Mack Rice, who did the original version of The Blues Brothers 'Mustang Sally' (written of course about Sally Sagoe who is Jean Carn under another name) and "It Takes One To Know One" originally by Larry Grayson and Micheal Portillo)
All the records on Charay and Le Cam including the rare alternate Tony Micheals vocal of "6 X 6" on Musicor and earlier, Marks and Spencers and an obscure track by The Volumes called 'Lady in Red' (later cover by Chris Rea of The Ostriches) were released on the 'Pama' label which was named after the next door neighbour of the son of a friend of the Auntie of label owner Harry Palmer. No one has ever seen a copy of any of these records on Pama or heard any of them so they must be really good.
That all true that is.
Great! LMAO!!!!

Originlly, Written In Late 1963 Intended For The Drifters, Is A Brilliant Song, From The Kooper-Brass-Levine Team, That Has Seen Hit Coverage From Gary Lewis & The Playboys (Liberty '64'), Soul Satisfaction By Sammy Ambrose (Musicor '65'), Andy Williams Took A Stab (Barnaby '75') and Al Kooper Re-did It (UA '76).
I'm Just Curious What You Think The Original 1964 Jimmy Radcliffe Recording Of The Song Twould Sell For Today?
Also Gary Lewis & The Playboys (Liberty)

Hi all,
Saw the thread on cracked 45's and it made me think...
Is there anything you can do to fix or improve records which have a dish warp?
In addition, what do you guys use to clean your precious 45's? Should a different method be used for cleaning styrene records rather than vinyl?
Cheers for your help,
Rich.
Had 2 UK records over the years that looked absolutely perfect, when played it was like 'frying tonight dear'...I could not understand what the hell was wrong with them, nice and clean, no marks but they just would not play without loads of crackle. I tried everything to clean them up and nothing worked. Took them to a guy in a shop in Norwich who's records always seemed very clean and bright.....he cleaned them up no problem using a combination of Tesco's unscented baby wipes and Mr.Muscle window and glass cleaner, after a few cleans using both, and some elbow grease, they played perfect!!

Any chance of a scan of the cover to see which photo it was?
Not so much a photo Ady...a drawing, she's wearing a sequined dress....maybe it's not her, something in the back of my tiny brain is telling me that i've seen the picture before and that it is her, presume it was drawn from an actual photo. Can't scan as my scanner packed up...will try and find it on the net ok.
