Jim ,I dont know what the answer is,as for going out,yes although there are alot of do's on ,most are a bit of a joke,I think thats why I tend to favour the R&B side of things,cos most of it is fresh and new (to me),trouble is she's not to keen on R&B,got to educate her a bit Bazza

I keep hearing " to many soul do's not enough punters " in my area Notts, Sheffield, Rotherham,Mansfield there are as you no many Venues,this Saturday just gone I think within 30/40 mile there was six do's on,that was just saturday The thing is tho' out of the six on ,in my opinion only a couple were worth attending,so if you pick out the ones you like,and give the others a miss,the the good ones will survive and the others wont,also look round at a do' the age of us lot ,we range from about 35 to 55,thats 20 years,so what is good for me may not be good for someone 20 years my junior,its not as simple now as it was in the old days Bazza

Yes Ken ,I do see what your saying,but in my area ,midlands notts sheffield mansfield rotherham,You do have the choice, some places tend to favour up tempo stompers such as "dendogs do's" rare or underplayed stuff "Attic" ,R&B "No More Doggin" and also places that play the lot "pilsley or annesley" I support em all,dont know what its like "darn sarf " ,but my point is the choice is there..........well up here it is Bazza

what you atticking me for,anyway I was 40 12 years ago,seen a lot of changes,some good ,some not so good,but you have got to admit age does come in to it,I love it all, the rare the oldies bit of modern the 100 mph stompers and the mid tempo stuff,I admit I tend to favour mid tempo and R&B ,but only because I cant do the 100 mph stuff for very long ,getting an old codger ,fact of life Ken Bazza

I watched it the other night,I thought it was ok,ms hudson stole the film and rightly so,beyonce was...... well beyonce,I enjoyed it ,found it a bit touching at times,not bad at all,but if you want to see a good film about the motown scene,the temptations story is a great film,not to be missed Bazza

Yes its true,I was a notts lad ,Palais Brit Union and so on,even tho' I say so me sen ,I was one of the best dancers around, won a few comps in my time (about 34 year ago ), more of a shuffler these days,dont do comps any more tho' to old and knackered,dont like to see em these days,I stand there thinking "call that dancing they aint got a clue " just reminds me of what I cant do anymore Bazza
