Tezza ,I'm not saying the music has to change,but you can't deny the scene in general has changed ,not all ways for the good I know but it has changed and will continue change ,I'm not big on 100 mph stuff now ,a venue that advertises its self as such,is not for me ,I like to hear new to me stuff,playing the same old stuff to me gets boring ,love the classics ,but I don't want to hear em all the time, my tastes have changed over the years , the scene has changed from mostly 100 mph back to a good mix of tempo's, a change I welcome Bazza

The best days of the scene are a personal thing ,I'm getting on for 59 so from my point of view the best days were from around 71 ,for folks in ther 40's the best days are probably the early 80's,but my point is ,today is the future of N/soul,in constant flux,if it dindn't change, the stuff of the early 70's would have been old hat by the 80's,so it has got to keep changing Just my opinion of course Bazza

Well I never got into N/Soul it got into me, I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time,I lived down the Meadows in Nottingham ,bit of a rough and ready area back then ,just round the corner from where I lived was a club called the Santa-Fe , walked in and wow ,Soul,Reggae.R&B, must have been around 15 soon as I was able it was the Palais.Brit ,and some other places I can't remember ,and the rest is history as they say, by the way I'm a young chap of 58 Bazza

No I don't agree with this,if a DJ don't thin out the floor now and then ,He or she is playing it to safe ,Some of us still get a tingle when something is played and think wow whats this,within the first 30 seconds of a new to me tune ,I know if it it will suit my style of dance ,same old stuff = boring to me Bazza
