  9. Thanks for that. I didn't know J. Wilson did it it. Can anyone post it? the J. Plum track is great, was just playing it yesterday. I seem to have mislaid 'Look at the boy" which I really like too.

There are some more great tracks on Susan Rafey's LP....including "Hurt So Bad", "World without sunshine" and a version of Betty Everett's "I can't say
  19. Yes, It's written by Bob Crewe and Gary Knight. I think Lesley Gore did it first, I don't think the KIki Dee version ever got played but I didn't realise this version had till JM said so.

Geni - terri bryant - verve 11110 refosoul classic Detroit
  21. That's not Smokey. Its Frank Wilson....it is the Guide vocal intended to be replaced by Smokey. It was accidently used as an unreleased track on that anthology. There could be a version with Smokey singing, but that's not it....its a nice track though and it is the Miracles on backing vocals. I think your cassette is playing a bit slow
  22. It would seem The Temps version is earlier than Marv Johnson. The Temps album "With a lot of soul" was released in July 1967 and Marv recorded his version in October 1967. I love all the versions...the Temps has the best vocals, but the Van Dykes has the best backing track......one of my favourite northern soul intros....a classic!
  23. My heart is calling you - the four tops - motown 11068 refosoul Original version of The Magnificents classic
