  6. Hi Julian i've got a Billy Shae Rae on Spectum white demo that i'd sell or trade, but i've been told its pretty rare on demo & i've no idea of a price [Manny doesnt list the demo ] ????????? bin told demo's nearly as rare as Eddie's 45 ? [ but not the price lol ] I'd have to dig it out to check condition & try & find a price somewhere if interested. Mort www.60sSOUL.2tunes.com
  7. WOW ! Goosebumps or what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1st time i've seen this vid & it sent shivers thru' me Whata great - underplayed oldie !!! [ got it in my box so its going to have to get played out some more ] Thanks for postin it. I've put a link up to it on my web site photo page @ [ www.60sSOUL.2tunes.com ] so maybe some non Soul Source soulies will get a chance to view it cheers again Mort
  8. A few posts before [ Rod if i remember ] i think, thought i was getting @ smokers ! I wasnt & i actually said in a previous ' Rockingham Hall whats on post ' that if it'd been up 2 me, i'd have had somewhere in a room, in the building for a smoking area ! As its council owned / run i dont have that option. However in reply to Billyboots post, if we are put under some sort of pressure to move smokers from doorways ? [ cant see why ? but we dont make the rules - we just make sure that we dont give anyone oppourtunity to close us down by not adhering to them] I'd buy one of those large garden gazzebo type things & erect it outside somewhere near to entrance. Its not that we enjoy having to enforce certain rules - its to cover our backs & protect the buildings licence, so we can all continue to have soul nights there [ its no different to serving ale after hours - you do it & risk getting your licence revoked ! ] I've put days & days of hard work & plenty of money into getting Rockingham off the ground & i wont allow it to close thru' not sticking to the rules laid down by law or giving some back stabbing a*** hole a chance to shop us. We dont make the law - we just enforce it !! Mort www.60sSOUL.2tunes.com
  9. Having just run our 1st event @ Rockingham hall M1 Jnc 36 in January & it being a council owned property with a no smoking policy, we were forced to advertise it as ' A NO SMOKING VENUE ' from the start & not change policy in July. We had a full house, [ turned a few away !! soz ] & i have to say that EVERYONE was fine about the situation. The smokers went to the covered doorway for their ' fag ' & took a short break & enjoyed a chat with other soulies [ a sort of social gathering !! lol ] the non smokers [me included ] had a much more enjoyable experience, of a great night, without the stink & streaming eyes we'd normally get @ most venues ! In my opinion as a promoter & punter the no smoking ban is not detrimental on a good night out, everyone can still enjoy themselves & the atmosphere [ air ] is better for all concerned. 1 note to mention. We'll need to put 2 bins with sand in, outside the doorway next time, the amount of tab ends around the doorway was a tramps heaven ! There were loads !
