Danny Daniels from Peterborough? he won the dance comp at the Casion anniversary in 1975, taught him everything, my mams front room carpet at 30 Fletton Ave bears testament to that , aint see the boy for years however after two decades of personal abuse they tell me he's getting his life back into some sort of normaility

Re-unions such as this are a great way to meet up with old friends, have a few beers, enjoy a good chat and all to the accompaniament of some of the finest music ever laid to vinyl, however there is another side to this event which we would like to share with you .... all profits from this event will be shared between two charities. The Douglas Macmillan Hospice a local north staffordshire organisation who give support and care to those facing cancer The Stroke Association a national charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages, funding research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation We believe both of these causes are well worthy of our support, we hope you do to. Update 20/2/09 It's been two weeks since I asked "who'd be up for it" bloody hell to suggest its kick off would be a under statement. First off I'd like to thank Malc for asking me to get involved, like him I want to do this for ME, no pretence no crap just looking forward to having one hell of a day paying tribute to a venue which shaped so many lives. Secondly I'd like to say thanks to Jez Jones for his assistance and contributions; our man on the manor has done so much. Thirdly, thank you to my brother who sorted out a website in 24hrs free of charge (link in my signature if you want to have a look) Fourthly all the dj's who have offered there services FOC to benefit the two proposed charitys Finally, those that have sent emails in reserving tickets and chatting about old times etc, I've been truly touched by some of the correspondence that has been received from offers of help with no charge to an email from Jill Bayles which was so long it took me two days to read. We have received applications for 164 tickets. Once the tickets have been received we will send out a request for payment so as to expedite tickets to you, put them in a safe place as no ticket, no entrance. I'm now off for me hard toast, ham and cheese, glass of spumante and a listen to Exus Trek to perk me up ...take care.- Another Charity Benefits From

He replied " if its one of you normal soul night, fook off" I came back with a "no its a Torch Reunion in Tunstall some of the orig dj;s and loads of old faces" he came back with " ok..10 tickets please"- Why Are Soul Venues Shutting Down?

do ex Torchites have a unique bond? This is gonna bore the tits of some however it was such a surreal moment that I thought I'd share it with you.. Jez Jones off this forum has been incredibly helpful with this Oct 2009 Torch reunion, Friday night we exchanged PM's with regard to meeting up with me and Malc at Morley Carr. I don't know the guy, never met him before in my life so I was interested to see what this guy looked like and also to personally say 'thank you' etc He told me he was coming up with FAT DAVE so I kept a look out for a FAT dave + 1, saw plenty but something not quite right, like Malc he was having problems getting there Started me dj spot at 10-15 and at 10-30 looking around, as you do and noticed this bloke near the bar, swarve bastard, a right dresser like "look at me I'm 54 but can still cut the cloth" standing still he had an air of arrogance...I thought yep, thats Jez Jones...40mins later he tapped me on the shoulder with a " allright mate" No pretence no shit, we went outside and within 30 mins he and I had bonded Bloody strange...- Another Charity Benefits From
I just wanna go up there with some close mates, hopefully meet some old and new mates from all over the uk, have a laugh, smile a little, laugh a little, cry a little and dance a lot to the sounds that without question to this day still have a profound effect on my personal musical taste. Its a reunion not a revival and to that end when the details are released I hope like minded folk who wish to say " thanks and goodbye to Hose St, Tunstall , Stoke on Trent" will attend for ALL the right reasons.. Right on Brothers and Sisters... PD - Another Charity Benefits From
