I did the Bletsoe thing infact it was my first ever nighter. Went down there with Eddie Din, Mick Veetman and Terry Tibbs, stone dance floor and powered by a gennie outside
I understand it had two lives and after closing in 1971 it resurfaced again early 72 and carried on for a good 6 to 9 months, Glen Bellamy resident, some Black geezer from Wellingborough (Delbert) plus guests, indeed Alan Day would play Bletsoe buy records of those ITK and trundle back to the Torch for a late spot to play his new aqusistions.
Although I was always on planet Zog for the durtaion of the weekend I recall The Olympics-The same old thing, The Vibrations - Suprise Party, The Millionaires - Never for me, and a thing by Sebatsian William called Shucks on Cottiliion which I don't think Ive heard anyone play since, in fact Ive forgotten how it goes, which is in all probability a clear indication it was shyte.
Very, happy days.
