East Memphis Music - promo only 5 lp box set issued in 1982 in Memphis. Promotional only issued to tv, radio and film production organisations by Irving Music. This 5 lp 80 track package comes complete with 20 page lyric / songwriter credit booklet. All five lps are individually packaged in their own inner custom sleeve and label design. Lps are packaged in an inner cardboard folder , which is enclosed in an outer cardboard packaging. Mint condition never played. Outer box grades as excellent . Featured artists include : Sam and Dave, William Bell, Aretha Franklin, Ann Peebles, Soul Children, Carla Thomas, Don Covay, Al Green, Eddie Floyd, Frederick Knight , Booker T, Otis Redding. Got the 45s from Tony Fox direct. Love Let Love was only pressed in small quantities when issued a runof 100 he told me. Steve G will back me up it WAS heavily played on release. I was selling the 45 for £5 and the LP for a tenner circa 1981. If only Id kept a few back eh - hindsight another useless skill.

Some other interesting 12 " tunes on Ham Sem namely : Tony Love ' My Feelings Will Never Change ' and Charles Scott ' Secret Love ' both 1981 releases. Also, the album from 1980 by Motivation ' Steppin Into Now' which has a nice two stepper tune on.

Mint condition of this will fetch between £35/£40 on current prices. I managed to get in excess of £50 two years back but no more on albums they ve slumped in value.

On another tangent t'other side of 'Hey Its Over' = 'If By Chance' also came out on WC's '77 Chi Sound LP 'Let Me Ride'. I presume this is a different version to the 45's being a few years later ? Geoff those are ALL prices ive gained on ebay or other sources in last 12 months, with exception of R Bros. Unfortunately lps aint gaining the prices they deserve at the moment . Definately a buyers market for albums as general prices have dipped around 20 % in the last year or so IMHO.
