  1. "Party Tracks" that'll be levinian mincing back-beat grafted onto otherwise respectable sounds..... just guessing!
  2. goes to prove, there's nowt as fickle as folk bazza! guess that's why the top 500 are the top 500, people in fear of the tumble weed! now, if one played kirk franklin @ kingsway hall then that would be inviting the tumbleweed.... or would it?
  3. thanks teapot, i'd rather skin myself with a rusty knife and rub salt on the sore bits, besides, i think the snake that's in the box would eat ruby andrews!!!!!!!
  4. that wouldn't be a first fatsterman!!!!! i remember rob smith playing sam williams at the palais in about late 77, early 78, cleared the floor except for me and big frank from peterborough. rob rescued the floor by playing james coit!!!! hundreds of lemmings got up and danced..... nothing new there then!
  5. i wasn't just gobsmacked, it sort of confused me for a moment thought i'd just entered the twilight zone. a bit like making an entrance to a party in fancy dress and everyone else is in black tie!! but still, if we all liked the same thing we'd only hear the top 500 played out..... wait a minute!!!!! that's another story!!!
  6. jackie wilson - becuse of you, i know, i know but had to think quick, first time T.J. had let me down!!!!
  7. baby i need you..... didn't bloody need him that night!!!!!!
  8. dee jaying at newage club in stamford, not many there but got good footfall reaction on the dance floor then........ put t.j. williams on......... the floor totally emptied and i could hear the strains of a spaghetti western as the tumbleweed drifted across the floor.... ooops! got them back with the next record but has anyone else got a 'certainty' that went 'south!'
  9. hear, hear gazman, not much beats spinning a fiver-sound that sounds like a lot, lot more and it's not the financial saving that does it, it's the reaction of the paying public. soul heaven as they may say.
  10. must admit,i never posted on SS about the EASC. peple may have posted about me but such is the want of some, never mind, water under the bridge and all that. i know stef's keen to help anyone with promotion and if the poster doesn't get any assistance from his/her own area i'm sure stef would be very pleased to help out.
  11. that's good because it was an honest and respectful answer.
  12. mine would be "The Northern Soul Scene" so we can wipe the slate clean and start again without all those "It's gotta be 60s and 100 MPH" steriotypes of this wonderful scene of ours, oh, and if you're throwing your phet wraps away we could always sell thm and raise money for the Coop's turn-my-boots-into-originals charity!
  13. have you tried stef malajny? i think his diary's got some windows in it.
