  1. LOL!! Do they go round in the same group who play MP3s at events too?
  2. yeah s'pose so Peter, cos you would be turning a shabby label into a good one, good point. Unless your intentions were just to keep the record and not sell it on, then I wouldn't suppose it mattered much. Just got me wondering when I saw the labels for sale what use they could be put to, apart from for record companies or actually for your own original recordings.

  4. Just seen somewhere that you can buy blank printable 45 labels. I wondered if anyone had ever used them to renew shabby labels by scanning an original one and printing it off? I know they could be open to abuse obviously, but just wondered if anyone had tried it? Also begs the question, if you did renew a label and the record was an original would it devalue the record? even if the label was a perfect copy? Food for thought!
  5. I know Pete, makes you want to hunt down all the cheap ones and put em on ebay if they're fetching silly money? So what would be the ligitimate UK release then? or was there one? and is the one on Brady's site the second press?
  6. Pete, was watching the Michael & Raymond too, ended up going for £67?? and in the description is stated there was a tiny crack in it? Fortunately I had already spotted another one for £27 which I bought. Never looked at Brady's site to be honest cos he is usually quite pricey. Just had a look and the only one I can see on there is this one at £30; https://www.northernsoul45s.co.uk/product_detail.asp?id=8426
  7. I have written to 'Record collector' as suggested above by dthedrug, and I have included all of the markings and images. Hopefully they will get back to me explaining the 'GG' and the 'T' markings as well as the title difference. I will post back if they do. Steve
  8. Say a prayer 'to me', or 'for me' Benji??
  9. I have attached images of all of the letters that appear on both sides (indicated on each photo) I have also attached the full labels of both sides so you can see that it is a British release copy.
  10. Thanks for that Dave. Yes the numbers on mine are; 7XCA 32660-1' at 5 O'clock on the 'Say a prayer for me' side and '7XCA32661-1 at 11 O'clock on the 'This beautiful day' side. The letters 'KT' are at 5 O'clock on the 'TBD' side, and at 10 O'clock on the 'SAPFM' side At 7 o'clock there are 2 'Gs' together on the 'TBD' side, and on the 'SAPFM' side at 2 O'clock there is the letter 'T' Complicated innit?? :-)
  11. Just got a record through from New Jersey this morning that I bought on the 1st of this month, so pretty quick I'd say.
  12. LOL!! misread your post and I thought it said 'Delrays' , Thought you were getting a shipment of Destination unknown.
  13. Never seen a Aussie one, do you have a link to one?
  14. Thanks Pete, very informative as usual.
  15. Also don't know if it will help at all, but opposite the stamped matrix, there is also stamped 'KT'??
  16. Phew!! you put the willies up me then (to coin a phrase) . I wonder how many many there is about with that title on the 'A'. Never seen another but there has to be more than one surely?
  17. Pete, matrix number is '7xcA32660-1' on the Say a prayer for me side and '7xcA32660-0' on the This beautiful day side. I didn't know that this was re-pressed. If it is a second press does it still make it an original copy?
  18. I don't know if I've put this on here before, but has anyone else on here got a Solomon King - This beautiful day on UK Columbia stock copy to compare with mine? This is the third copy of this I have had and the other two before this, both had the 'A' side as 'Say a prayer'. This one however has got 'Say a prayer for me' as the 'A'. I was wondering if anyone had the same on theirs? It is listed on the UK Columbia Discography as 'Say a prayer' as the 'A'
  19. Always loved the Intrepids, both that and 'Street People - You're my one weakness' stunning tracks
  20. Just got this through, not rare, but what a stormer, and written, arranged and produced by the master Richard 'Popcorn' Wylie. Always loved this and great to dance to. Innocent Bystanders - Frantic escape https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55zbSXb7L7M
  21. Got this through today and pleased to say it's better than described, and it didn't cost me any more than the record and postage cost Seller a bit sparse with his comms though, in fact didn't answer 3 messages that I sent him, but all OK apart from that. So £7 for a top tune on Demo
  22. A few bits on eBay, some ending today. https://stores.ebay.co.uk/Soulman-Auctions/Soulman-Bits-n-bats-/_i.html?_fsub=3&_sid=45946198&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
  23. Just got this through, paid £18 but I think well worth it, and a nice addition to the Motown related US demo section of the collection.
