Has Anyone Ever Renewed A Label?
Phil, what you have quoted me as saying above, was simply me quoting what dthedrug had said in his post, I was merely trying to simplifying his opinion.

Has Anyone Ever Renewed A Label?
If you read the original post I didn't say I was going to do any of what you say. It was a question aimed at viewing other peoples opinions, which is what forums are intended for. I merely stated that I had seen blank labels for sale and wondered what people would use them for? and if you read the rest of the replies, there are different opinions, as everyone is entitled to one, including yourself.

Has Anyone Ever Renewed A Label?
So in short, in your opinion, if you have an original press and the label is fooked, printing and applying a new label of the same ilk, is OK? providing that you are not covering it up to disguise it as something it isn't?

The labels I saw Phil were printable and self adhesive too :-)

Has Anyone Ever Renewed A Label?
I would imagine it would depend on what printer and ink you use, and of course how good the scan was that you'd be printing.

Has Anyone Ever Renewed A Label?
yeah s'pose so Peter, cos you would be turning a shabby label into a good one, good point. Unless your intentions were just to keep the record and not sell it on, then I wouldn't suppose it mattered much. Just got me wondering when I saw the labels for sale what use they could be put to, apart from for record companies or actually for your own original recordings.

Has Anyone Ever Renewed A Label?
Just seen somewhere that you can buy blank printable 45 labels. I wondered if anyone had ever used them to renew shabby labels by scanning an original one and printing it off? I know they could be open to abuse obviously, but just wondered if anyone had tried it? Also begs the question, if you did renew a label and the record was an original would it devalue the record? even if the label was a perfect copy? Food for thought!

Magnetics Bootleg Why So Dear ? Please Explain
I know Pete, makes you want to hunt down all the cheap ones and put em on ebay if they're fetching silly money? So what would be the ligitimate UK release then? or was there one? and is the one on Brady's site the second press?

Magnetics Bootleg Why So Dear ? Please Explain
Pete, was watching the Michael & Raymond too, ended up going for £67?? and in the description is stated there was a tiny crack in it? Fortunately I had already spotted another one for £27 which I bought. Never looked at Brady's site to be honest cos he is usually quite pricey. Just had a look and the only one I can see on there is this one at £30; https://www.northernsoul45s.co.uk/product_detail.asp?id=8426

Solomon King - This Beautiful Day Query
I have written to 'Record collector' as suggested above by dthedrug, and I have included all of the markings and images. Hopefully they will get back to me explaining the 'GG' and the 'T' markings as well as the title difference. I will post back if they do. Steve

Solomon King - This Beautiful Day Query
I have attached images of all of the letters that appear on both sides (indicated on each photo) I have also attached the full labels of both sides so you can see that it is a British release copy.

Solomon King - This Beautiful Day Query
Thanks for that Dave. Yes the numbers on mine are; 7XCA 32660-1' at 5 O'clock on the 'Say a prayer for me' side and '7XCA32661-1 at 11 O'clock on the 'This beautiful day' side. The letters 'KT' are at 5 O'clock on the 'TBD' side, and at 10 O'clock on the 'SAPFM' side At 7 o'clock there are 2 'Gs' together on the 'TBD' side, and on the 'SAPFM' side at 2 O'clock there is the letter 'T' Complicated innit?? :-)

Solomon King - This Beautiful Day Query
Phew!! you put the willies up me then (to coin a phrase) . I wonder how many many there is about with that title on the 'A'. Never seen another but there has to be more than one surely?
-
Solomon King - This Beautiful Day Query
Pete, matrix number is '7xcA32660-1' on the Say a prayer for me side and '7xcA32660-0' on the This beautiful day side. I didn't know that this was re-pressed. If it is a second press does it still make it an original copy?

Solomon King - This Beautiful Day Query
I don't know if I've put this on here before, but has anyone else on here got a Solomon King - This beautiful day on UK Columbia stock copy to compare with mine? This is the third copy of this I have had and the other two before this, both had the 'A' side as 'Say a prayer'. This one however has got 'Say a prayer for me' as the 'A'. I was wondering if anyone had the same on theirs? It is listed on the UK Columbia Discography as 'Say a prayer' as the 'A'
