  1. BEING 100% SERIOUS HERE SOME ONE SHOULD WRITE A BOOK, WEVE HAD ALL THE VENUES, AND HISTORY OF THE MUSIC BOOKS, THIS SUBJECT WOULD BE A CRACKER, GREAT STORIES, YOU GUYS IMHO MADE THE SCENE WHAT IT IS TODAY, ANY IDEAS WHO WERE THE FIRST TO GO OVER?
  2. As i posted earlier in this thread, this has been a fascinating read, but to add to these stories, i would love to hear how these guys felt on there first trip, i can only imagine how dodgy a place the usa is if youve never been before, bet these guys have some tales to tell on that subject, especially as some of the people must have only been in there early twenties at the time, very daunting indeed

  7. Totally agree with you there dave, fascinating! can`t imagine the feeling of coming across some of these finds, allways wondered what people felt like the first time they picked up a record like frank beverly that no one over here had ever heard over here, top marks to these guys the building blocks of our scene

Was at wilton last night and decided because i had no money, not to look through the sales boxes, ive found over the years if you look & you aint got no money, you allways find what you want, about 3 O`clock the wife said look harry ive got £20 spare, was looking over a lads shoulder n he pulled out the only record i was looking for, OLIVER NORMAN-DROWNING IN MY OWN DESPAIR-DECCA so if any of you people have one i could buy, i would be greatful HARRY

  19. Like i say mal only quoting, spoke to a mate who was on the stage withn the lad, I personally allways believed it was demo`d, lad who told me this well respected collector, who said sammy campbell said it was never demo`d for financial reasons, we discussed this for a while and came to the conclusion, that was any of the big new jersey records demo`d? robbie lawson, billy arnell, twans, don`t know myself and it came as a shock to me
  20. Had a great night at the wilton last night, two or three people told me about this, and i`m only quoting, evidently at prestatyn a lad went up on the stage after the DEL LARKS set to get his demo copy signed, only to be told by sammy campbell that job opening was never demo`d, anyone throw any light on this?
