Surviving The Decades is eight short biographies of soul music groups who have battled to stay in the music industry, their road has often been dogged by bankruptcy, false promises, racism, and non-payment of royalties.

They learnt their craft the hard way, which no TV reality show can ever teach you. 50 years is a long time in a business which takes no prisoners. Success usually came after years on the "chittlin" circuit and travelling hundreds of miles, but then to adapt to new musical trends and technology, now that to me, takes some doing.
