"Dab of Soul on the Rocks"
Lynton (Devon) Soul Weekender
March 15-17th 2024
We are delighted to announce that as from Tuesday 31st October we will be accepting bookings for "Dab of Soul on the Rocks 2024".
The event will be held at the Valley of the Rocks Hotel situated in the picturesque village of Lynton, Devon. Main room DJs confirmed for the event are:

Lisa Wolverson
Russ Vickers 
Keith and Maxine Woon.
There will also be additional daytime DJs added in due course.
The costs for the weekend are as follows:
Single room: £45.00 per person per night (£90.00 for the weekend)
Double/Twin room: £45.00 per person per night (£180.00 for the weekend)
Weekend Pass: £40.00 per person
Total: £130.00 per person for the whole weekend
All room costs include breakfast.
The event will run from 1.00pm on Friday 15th March and end on the morning of Sunday 17th March. The music will run until 2.00am on the Friday and Saturday night.
Considering the success of our previous events we expect demand to be very high and therefore in order to give everyone a fair chance there are a very specific set of instructions that must be followed in order to book for this event.
Booking opens for hotel with weekend passes at 7.00pm on Tuesday 31st October.
Simply send an email to adabofsoul@btinternet.com stating the following:What type of room and how many weekend passes you would like.
Name of all people attending.
How you would like to pay (See below)
If you have any special room requirements because of medical needs.
You will receive an email back confirming your booking with a total cost.
Please note, we will not be replying to emails until the following day.
In the event that your desired accommodation is not available you will also receive email notification.
Any emails received before 7.00pm will not be included.
If you choose to pay by PayPal all payments must be received by Sunday 5th November. If you need longer to pay that's no problem, just let us know. All PayPal payments should be as a gift/ Friends and Family.

Booking will be done on a strictly first come first served basis. All booking emails will be answered in order.
If you are not lucky enough to be offered a place or a pass you can be added to the waiting list. People always drop out so this is well worth doing.

Weekend only passes priced at £40.00 are also available and can be booked in the same way as above.
Any payments not received by the allotted times and dates will be cancelled.
You can stay at the hotel on the Thursday or Sunday night for the same reduced rate. Just include this in your booking request.
If you make a booking and are then unable to attend the event you are responsible for selling your own booking although we would help by advertising it on the FaceBook page etc. No refunds will be given.
There are no "One night" passes available.
Daytime "Collectors spots" will be confirmed nearer to the event.
I know this set of instructions may seem a little anal but we just want to make booking quick and easy for everyone. Obviously booking is still a couple of weeks away so if you have any questions or issues in the meantime please don`t hesitate to ask.

It appears it’s almost that time again … Get ready for our next Sunday Session @ The Old Kings Head, Belper for another brill afternoon of soul sounds on Sunday March 17th !!!
After the stormer of a line up last time, it felt only natural to follow suit with the lineup of DJs this time . Spinning the tunes alongside myself this time will be:
Neill Evans , promoter of the recently revamped / rebranded HIGH RIDGE SOUL CLUB in Heanor .
The brilliant Angie Greatorex and Pierre Eyquem , who I’m sure many of you will know from being out and about and for their great tastes in soulful spins (as well as running the soul in the Midlands group on Facebook !) .
Mick Bassett , a long time regular at The Kings Head and also a resident DJ at Soul City Tamworth .
Phil Wheelhouse, who always plays a brilliant selection of soul and will be DJing later in the year at the Belper Soul Festival .
And our guest for the afternoon - Diane Naylor , who whilst known for her regular spots at Soul Shack Chesterfield , appears to have DJed here there and everywhere ! She has recently returned from a storming event at The Gathering .
With a line up like that, this session isn’t one to be missed - For soulies in the Midlands this is the place to be on the 17th. only £4 OTD, with a bar in the function room, seats, tables and a dance floor . We will be spinning from 2-8PM however often run over a little bit much to the pleasure of punters ! Records to be sold in the bar room, with the dealers TBC. Always a friendly and knowledgeable crowd.
Expect classic 60s soul, rare tracks, R&B oldies, Motown Magic, Northern favourites and more. All fine tailored for a Sunday Afternoon . Original Vinyl Only !!

Third Summer Music presents afternoon soul sessions at The Lower Turks Head, a wonderful heritage pub in the centre of Manchester.
