On Sunday 11th June, we welcome long-time friend and regular guest selector Greg Belson back to Color One Tear Black.
For over twenty years, Greg has dedicated himself to exploring long-overlooked gospel sounds that lean heavily towards soul, funk, and disco, and is without doubt the global authority. His Divine Chord radio show on LA's dublab has been running for over ten years now and has the distinction of no track ever having been played twice (shows are archived on dublab.com). Greg is also the compiler of the Divine Disco album series, and works with COTB’s David Hill on gospel compilations – their next is Checker Gospel for the Honest Jon’s label, which is due early 2024. It's always an education when Greg's behind the decks, and we look forward to more off-radar sweet and deep gems.
COTB residents Claire Kalvis, Jim Edwards, David Hill and JM will also be spinning alongside Greg on 11th June.
Set up in February 2016 by Thierry Cochet, AKA Dr. Kruger (NTS), Color One Tear Black celebrates group harmony, sweet and deep soul music, played on original issue 45s by resident DJs Dr Kruger, Claire Kalvis, Jim Edwards, David Hill, JM plus guests. The night runs on the second Sunday of each month at The Paradise, 19 Kilburn Lane, London. W10 4AE.
