Jon e Boy October 6, 2024Oct 6 1 of 1 member say helpful 1 / 1 member Haven't been here before but people in the know said to get there early to catch the first DJ WILLOW, she did not disappoint and played a superb set, in particular playing Gene Chandler followed by Drifter, Ray Pollard, and other gritty northern tunes. Smart move as it set the scene, but later the momentum was lost. Motown lovers were well provided for. Take a coat as the place was like a fridge, due in part to the front door being left open for the tabbers' smoke fumes. Beer prices and staff were good value. Response from the promoter: Hi Jon E Boy Thanks for your feedback Willow is a favourite at Oakleigh who will be playing a little later on, as for the rest of the night the floor was kept busy all night, My flyer is headed as Nottingham Northern Soul and Motown we will cover all genre of tunes. as for the Door I am on meet and greet and close the door when left open even so Friday as I had a chest infection. The room has air -conditioning I do say to visitors ask the bar staff to turn it down or of. Oakleigh is always well attended month in month out, Would have been nice to have had a chat with you hope you pop along again sometime. Kind Regards Mal Promoter
