Hello. I am a newbie to this forum and am looking for some advice from you veterans about outdoor Summer gigs.

Im worried about an upcoming event in the DESERT. The temp will be around 100 Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius.

Its a 2 hour set and although I am told the area is covered, I am overwhelmingly concerned about degrading / ruining

my vinyl.

What have you guys done in these types of situtions? Your advice and experience is greatly appreciated!

I would:

a) Turn down the gig

B) Request a 12" block of ice to rest your 45 box on

c) Buy some linen clothes

d) Keep the 45s out of direct sunlight at all costs

e) Turn down the gig

A soul do in the desert...... whatever next?

a couple of years ago at the isle of wight scooter rally..

Pete Kelross (Bisley promoter) organises music out side the bowling alley so people can have apint and background music..

any way we have decks under a gazebo thing.. the sun was coming in the side not a lot nothing to worry about it was a lovely day and we had music and beer....

one of the dj's was playing some record and queed up the next one by the time the first record finished the queed up one was warped...

took less than 2 minutes at the isle of wight.. i imagine in the desert it will happen when you take them out there sleeves..

play cd's....

thanks guys. much appreciated. no soul for LA.
