Just had a nice little session to celebrate the first Sunday afternoon of 2010...
3 45s that did it for me this afternoon were...
'My baby love' THE TEMPREES - WE PRODUCE W/D
Cracking mid 70s dancer, great vocal and superb mellow backbeat. Ultra Soulful record that actually mentions 'disco nights' at one point but is a Soul record through and through.
'Miracle Woman' THE IMPRESSIONS - CURTOM
Nice, Jazzy midtempo stepper that has that summer feel, which is something that seems a long way away right now! Feel good laid back Soul with a terrific production onboard. Flip side 'Sooner or later' (Which I think is the official A?) is a great moody 70'S chugger too.
''He came into my life' MARGIE JOSEPH - ATLANTIC
Another record with that blue skies and warm breeze feeling, the flip to 'Come on back to me lover' and another floaty mover penned by JOHNNY BRISTOL. Some great EMOTIONS style backing vocals going on, never played this tune before today and very glad I did.
What did it for you on the first Sunday of a New Year?
