Can someone please explain to me why sometimes you get a record in different colours ?

For example Johnnie Jackson & The Blazers featuring Merle Spears What ya gonna do.

I had in pink and sold it , I now have it in a vermillion reddy orange one and yesterday I saw it in yellow ?

Which is /was the best colour to own ?

West coast/East coast thing ?.Different colors to denote different "runs"?. Always thought that complex patterns may have been dropped cos of cost?.
