Just got through the new CD from Ebony Evans - You did it all - Coastal records, outta Atlanta. A couple of years ago her 12" got a fair bit of play with a nice cover of the old Tearra song 'Loving you' that came out on Midtown.
The first studio cd followed to good aclaim, now we have a the second studio set. This has been a labour of love for all involved in the project, delivering a cool mix of soulful contemparary dancers, steppers and stunning ballads. Recorded at The Coffee House Studio in Atlanta, the set has nice instrumentation, and producer Manny Campbell (the man behind The Nu-Ron, Tearra, Rotations, Lazzistics etc) turns up on one track 'Away with you' on vibes. This is a slightly jazz edged soulful slow jam.
For the club jocks there is the first track on the cd 'Just because of you', a midtempo driving rhythmnic dancer, that matches Ebony's vocals so well. Track 3 'Keep on dancin' you can win' is another cool uptempo dancer, with a as so cool sax running through the track.
All in all this a quality independant release worth some of your hard earned cash. You can find it on CD Baby, Soul Tracks plus a bunch of other sites for sale
