Posted July 7, 201014 yr Forgive what may be a dumb question (I'm new here), but what does "import" mean in this context: https://cgi.ebay.com/Northern-Soul-Classic-Gloria-Jones-Tainted-Love-/130407801363?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Records&hash=item1e5ce92213 I'd guess that there is a legitimate pressing for other countries process, which would make the record an "import"? However in this case is it just a euphemism for bootleg? As far as I know any tainted love colored label is a bootleg. Or am I wrong about that?
July 7, 201014 yr You're right about that Gloria Jones 45 being a bootleg/repro, but I don't think that's why the seller describes it as an "import". The seller is in the UK and all of his US pressed 45s are described as "imports" which they indeed were/are (they were imported from the US to the UK, not pressed in the UK).
