I have a copy of the Odyssey LP on an Italian promo.

The US versions are on Mowest, but as you can see by the label scans mine is an Italian Tamla Motown promo.

Do the US versions have this same label design, or are they the standard Mowest label?

Is mine worth any more than the US version?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Cheers.

Tony.

I think from memory it's the standard Mowest design (mark.b or Johnny/Ali Trout will confirm),

I've only ever seen the White Demo - was it ever issued?? :D

Stand out tracks are Battened Ships & Our Lives Are Shaped By What We Love.

Good Arras mate :D

I have loved "our lives are shaped" track for a long time...I would really like a copy on 7"..Price and availability anyone...

Unfortunately the rest of the album's pretty crap. Has to be worth buying for the LP-only Battened Ships, though. Storming tune.

The 'Our Lives' 45 crops up now and then on ebay. About £40?

I think I've seen a few 45 demos for about £60 on a few lists, but I would say price is creeping up on that one.

I think I paid about £40 for mine not too long ago.

MINES THE NORMAL US MOWEST LABEL :D

Could you do me a favour  Could you supply me with the songwriter credits, track time and any other info that's supplied about this track - arranger and producer would be great. The UK album details would be good too - matrix number etc. Any info gratefully received. Jo :D

The album came out in May '72 and the single was released in November.

US L.P.'s look like these

I'll post up the other side of the label and both a couple of scans of the cover. That should give you the info you need.

Here's the A side:

No idea why it's done one twice? Doesn't preview like that.

Hope it's of some help.

Featuring Diane Keaton, in the wooly hat, before leaving to make films with Woody Allen!

Might account for some of the album's dodgier moments.
