Hijacking the thread regarding linking sounds to venues for a minute, as, historically all the "top" venues were weekly events it makes it that bit easier to name where you first heard something.

Anyway the point is this,if somebody had the 'nads to start a weekly event nowadays, with the scene being on a much more "global" scale, would you go????

Answers on the back of a £20 note, if you please.

If it was next door, had free beer ( served by a young Marsha Hunt ) and a live weekly set from Jackie Wilson's clone - then maybe.

That's it - I'm not coming.

if i was 18 again, had loads of energy, disposable income and it was the right venue, sounds-wise, yes definitely.

unfortunately, i'm 38, knackered and broke, so no

If I'm reading it right, you would be there 3 weeks out of every 4??

I would of been until I edited it about an hour ago.

So far it looks like a no, so the question now becomes ,why?

I'm fairly sure that when Sheridans was open the same core of people went 2 or 3 times a month, albeit to nights run by different promoters.

Or is it that by going to different venues you can hear a wider selection of Sounds, like say

Prestwich

Blackburn

Stoke
