Posted April 30, 201114 yr Hi everyone Soul Motivation by Robert Winters came out twice on Ron's #3 and #5 - firstly in '68 on the silver label, then in '69 on the black label The two recordings are quite different - the '68 version has a more prominent lead vocal but is less 'storming' I love both - but which is best from a playing out perspective? The '69 version is in Refosoul robert winters - soul motivation - rons I will look out the other version and get it posted up, unless someone already has it on sound file and can post up Cheers Richard
May 1, 201114 yr Hi Richard. The black one for me.More upfront vocally, the silver one's vocals get buried in the instrumentation.Flip is collectable for "Lilith". Could play the instru on the back of the black one....properly recorded in the front of the mix...real deal Detroit instrumental.
