Posted August 23, 201113 yr In hot debate with a friend as to whether this was a 60's - 70's release. From the look of JJ's 'Fro' on the label must have just been on the cusp... Superior knowledge sought ...... Cheers.
August 23, 201113 yr Good Stuff I feel a "I told you so moment coming on :P" I first heard it at Cleggy and always kind of figured it was ........70's Anyone got the year? He won't be able to play it now at venues with a 60's only policy ........... Still A Brilliant Tune (imho)
August 24, 201113 yr Is J J Callier the same fella as J J Caillier (maison de soul) ? Yes, both are Louisiana releases. JJ was a local DJ The Ace computer gives the date as 1971, not sure how accurate this is.
August 24, 201113 yr It does sound early 70's. Whats the going rate now? I've seen it go on Manships for around £350 a few times but thats too high i know - very rarely seen on sales lists. Ste.

If you look at the publishing on the pusherman record, it goes to a website where they're actually selling maison de soul 45s. I would be surprised if this record was '71, before curtis mayfield's "Pusherman". I guess it would be interesting if it predated him though.
