one of the English guys in Australia thought of this about 5 or 6 years ago (in the dial-up days), for a dayer/soul night. He had tested it before the soul night and it worked fine. However, the silly boy forgot to dial "0" to get an outside line from the venue, and didn't phone anyone to check that it was working.

I had flown over from another city and wasn't keen on his idea, kept dodging the camera all night.

I was so relieved it didn't work. No problem with the music going over - just thought pictures idea was a bit mean and a bit of a actually.

People are already videoing events, but that's historical (memories can be nice). For me, the idea of downstreaming it live, makes me think that struggling nights might struggle more and ask

... would it be that good for promotion?... would it bring in fresh blood? ...would it turn armchair soulies back to "on topic" posters? ...would it refresh sounds faster? ...would it go down well with a spicy tai takeaway and a good french red?
