I am looking for my old friend Pete Robinson.I know there is more than one Mr Robinson on the soul scene but the one I am looking for is formerly of Wisbech, (his parents lived there anyway) He also lived in other places including York and was last seen heading for Brighton a few years ago which is when we lost touch.

I was spurred on to find him when I just heard the Caviar soundfile in a post-it always reminds me of him.

Pete's living on the South Coast and I saw him in Brighton at The Hanbury Arms last summer. Amanda is more in the know, she said he was presenting on the local news!? Give her a bell!

Must admit Karen, as he was someone I went to soul events with in the late 70's/80's before he started knocking around with Keb and co. I was shocked to see him freelancing for Meridian at teatime some years ago. The cherry on the cake is he bimbled into the Volks at Brighton a few years ago with his skateboard under his arm, had a boogie for a couple of hours (he was always a fine dancer) and skated off. I may have a contact number for him if you get stuck - somewhere. For now heres a phot of him in the 80's at Cleggers Winter Gardens. The Prof as we used to call him.

Thanks for the photo-is he wearing some type of bow-tie? How funny!

I did some detective work and I think I may have tracked him down. I won't say anything now but it looks intriguing-might try the number today. He may however, not want to be found!

I'm now trying to think of the name of the girl sitting next to me in the picture - she was from Wisbech too - it'll come to me.

You can repay me by getting me a Northern slot in Brighton.. still have the first record I ever bought - Soul Twins - Quick Change Artist (I seem to remember the b-side is v good too).

I went to my first soul nights about 73/74 in East Anglia.. that's 30 years! Jeez the music is still with me tho.
