Just posting this message I had sent today, just to warn you to be on your guard! It has got to be some sort of a scam, for one simple reason, I am very anti E-Bay and do NOT even have a Pay Pal account & never have had! lol

Agreed Paddy I got one yesterday at my work - exact same. Sent it on to PayPlay and they

confirmed its a phishing scam. They hope you'll reply to the email giving confidential information about your account.

Paypal always use your user name in all emails to you, if you get an email to "dear Customer" you know its a spoof, you can forward these on to paypal, likewise for ebay.

Used to get loads of these, just ignore them. Unless your stupid. Never ever give your personal details to anyone, unless you know who your dealing with.

Quick tip, always make sure when you enter your password (i never save my passwords, always enter them each visit) That the small padlock is in the bottom right and that the address bar starts with https. not just http, the s stands for secure and it can only be sent to the right address. Does that make sense. It does to me but i'm the one writing it.

If in doubt just go to the paypal site & log in (using your usual bookmark link rather than any link given in these dodgy emails!) - if you have got any geniune problems then you'll soon find out!

This is not just happening regarding Paypal. It`s also happening with various bogus emails claimimg to be sent from banks. Every now and then you get sent an email from a different bank asking you to follow their link with your login details. It`s the numbers game-if anyone does bank online,they`re obviously hoping to catch somebody out eventually by including every bank imaginable. Paypal or ANY bank would never ask you to submit your details this way anyway!

So don`t be fooled!

Had this last year, and if in doubt about anything else just get in touch with Paypal and they will sorted it out and block them off the line.

The only secure way to sign into any account on the internet is to type the url into the command line then you know you are going to the correct site to enter your details. All REAL sites advise you to this.

Odd thing about that one, I recently set up a new email account for the scooter club I'm in and all we've had since then is spoof emails "from" one bank and one bank only....the bank the clubs account is in. How does that work?
