My wife watches The Ellen Show and wanted my reaction to this.

 

The good?  Delta Goodrem has a really nice voice?  The bad?  Any song with Michael Bolton.  The guy has absolutely no vocal range whatsoever.

Having a nice voice is one thing ... having a soulful voice to do justice to one of the great soul classics is another thing.

 

Delta brings to Ain't No Mountain High Enough exactly what her fellow Aussie Jimmy Barnes brought to the song when he attempted it ... absolutely nothing.

 

Jimmy Barnes is one export to Australia that many of us would have been glad for Scotland to keep all those years ago. Unfortunately we are stuck with Delta....

I went to Amazon and listened to samples of his new CD.  They are all Motown tracks, and each one is as dreadful as the other.  I thought the Phil Collins one was rubbish, but this one just inched past it for me.
