Roger Washington “Take It Slow” (The Eagle Record Co.) VG/VG- £75

Thunderous ‘60s dancer. Some ringwear and a little wol.

Shirley Johnson “One Foot In Paradise / Have A Little Faith” (Fran-Son) VG-/G+ £250

This is an extremely rare Virginia release that hardly ever turns up. The hard funky soul side will be the main attraction for most, although “Have A Little Faith” is a fantastic deep ballad. Her rarest and arguably best record. “One Foot In Paradise” sounds ok, and although the wear is definitely more apparent on the ballad it’s still listenable. Some label wear.

Communicators & Black Experience Band “The Road” (Tri Oak) VG- £100

Enormous deep funk anthem. Minor label wear, plays fine.

The Royale VII “It’s An Explosion / Part 2” (Windmill) VG £500

Tremendous funky soul / crossover out of Hampton, VA, with a totally original sound. Massive drum breaks, especially on the overlooked Part 2 which is a totally different version of the track as opposed to an instrumental. Check it out - it’s a killer in its own right if you don’t mind some heavy guitars. Slight ringwear & wol.
