hi soul folk,was this released as a single ? if so was it the live version as on the album or a more polished studio mix ? any help appreciated,thanks

Hello Jason, this wasn't a 45, just on the live LP from memory. Also a different Live version of What's Going On available on the Live LP ( completely different gig from the originally released Live LP) which surfaced  a couple of years back as a record store day release. That different live recording was also included in the Donny Hathaway anthology/CD set from around the same time which is well worth having.

Theres some previously unissued stuff on there too, one of which is "Always The Same" ( a great uptempo pounder) which I see that Go Ahead records are putting out on 45..... Good Shout !
