My first French chargeback in a long time. His name is Gilles Petard and he has the records sent to "Bob Merlis" in LA.
Yes, he has loads of positive feedback, but *oh right* sellers haven't been able to leave negative feedback for years. Sent me a "Happy New Year" message along w/ chargeback. LIkes to buy Soul 45's, especially New Orleans.

Never had a problem with Gilles, and he is rather well-known having set up Motown in France back in the day. I'm surprised to say the least.

At best, he's knowingly ripping off an honest, longtime seller to cover the cost of his misfortune.
His approach and communications suggest he's quite familiar with manipulating the eBay/Paypal chargeback system.

Me too. Also, he's more interested in pictures than in records, and he's more into Northern than New orleans. (?)

 

Do what you will with this info. I've been lucky to have been burned like this very few times over the last 20 years and I'm glad to help other sellers avoid the experience.
