I'm in Chicago until sunday. Anyone know of any soul stuff going on (soul/funk/R&B)? Any record stores I should hit?

It's like zero degrees fahrenheit outside, but will brave the cold for some soul!

 

As far as entertainment goes- try to get a copy of the Chicago Reader ( its a free newspaper)- there should be some  good info in there.

    And it is cold- high today is supposed to be 12 degrees ! 

Grrr. Can't find anything good in the Reader... if anyone knows of any good record spots, let me know!

I was out there for christmas i found a few record shops but the best was dusyy groove on ashbourne it has a amazing bargain basement the 46s are 25 cents and lps are 50 cents! Reckless records have 3 shops but the one in lincoln park is pretty good hope this is helpful. The chess studios is also a must on michihan ave but they csll it blues heaven, when i wemt there the young guy who did the tour eas willie dixons grsndson!
