"Ive been trying" two additional good versions.on 45.....Jerry Butler on Veejay(with the super "giving up on love" on the other side... also... Nu Sound Express on Silver Dollar...on LP Archie Bell +Drells "I cant stop dancing" Atlantic...(some nice covers of Chicago tracks on this)

..."I've Been Trying" - two more that immediately spring to mind are the Four Gents on HBR (and probably a little Detroit label before that) and the Heptones on Jamaican Gay Feet - which, although reggae, has as much soul in the vocals as any version I've heard.

I must have loads of other versions as I tend to buy them automatically as I see them, if they're cheapish. But these are the only two others that I can think of, off the top of my head, that haven't been covered by Platters81.

If I come up with any more, I'll be back.
