I'm not sure if anyone linked to this article before - from the Institute for Studies in American Music.

Makes interesting reading - but SURELY there is an error in there?

It jumped right off the page at me!!

Surely it can't be right??!!

Anyone else spot it?. . . . . . or I'll give a clue which paragraph it is in!

Love to hear a 1965 version of Smokey and The Miracles doing "Just My Imagination..."

Well done Dave - I was hoping I wouldn't have to post a clue.

The article seems quite well researched - I wonder how she could have got that so wrong?!

This article has really set me off. I had to pull my old VHS tape of "The Sounds of Motown" programme out of the loft. I really love that tape - especially Dusty dueting with Martha and the Vandellas . They look as if they are having a real ball.

But there is some poignant stuff in there too. David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks swapping lead vocals with the Temps. Florence Ballard "Baby Babying" behind Diana Ross's lead. And there's two Marvin Gaye tracks spliced in the middle - Marvin looking young, handsome and oozing with talent.

So many tragedies waiting to happen!!

And I've just ordered 2 biographies of Dusty from Amazon - got to read more about her early trips to the States and working with the Motown artists over there.

(And all this between watching "Leona" win X Factor!!)
