Boobye Hall was the often used, mostly uncredited percussionist at Motown, one of the albums where she was credited was Marvin's 'What's going on', choosing this track from that cut to illustrate her style, on hearing it, becomes obvious that she was featured on a great many superb cuts. She also worked with Janis Joplin, Carole King, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell... It's a big long list.

Any other suggestions of Motown tracks where her percussion is jumping out at you? Should be loads.

The first time I came across her name was on Bill Withers live album where he pays tribute to her on the great intro to Grandmas Hands
