January 30, 200718 yr Don't think anyone commented on this one... but what an utterly superb tune! Does anyone know who the male singer in this tune is? L.P. doesn't quote individual songs but background singers include, McFadden and Whitehead, Kashif, George McCrae, and Lilo Thomas.... Quite a line up....
January 31, 200718 yr Bobby Fuller met a grusome death when he was kidnapped by a gangster whose girlfriend he had been knocking off & pumped full of petrol. Almost right Crumb, according to Wikipedia this is how he met his end ; Just as "I Fought The Law" became a top ten hit, Bobby Fuller was found dead in a parked automobile near his Los Angeles home. The police considered the death an apparent suicide, however many people still believe Fuller was murdered. He was found with multiple wounds all over his body and covered in gasoline leading many to speculate that the perpetrators fled before they could set the car on fire. He is buried in the Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles. Either that or one of the silly buggers forgot the matches ? Still a nasty end whatever Still prefer the Bobby Fuller Four version myself, awesome slab of fast blue eyed soul
