Our event guide is offered to members as a fully featured free listing feature to inform other members of upcoming soul music related events

The weekender section is one of the main sections and also one of the busiest

Since the return of UK events to the guide, recent weeks has seen a poor standard of promotion in this section by some promoters

We have had members asking valid questions and not getting any answers or being redirected to other sites, some where they have to join to get any basic info!

We have also had members posting placeholders such as 'Latest update for 2021 watch this space' and then not bothering to update information or even login to the site and answer members queries as the event nears.

We have had weekenders events showing in prominent positions on the site- that if any member clicked on it to read event details instead show very low quality posts such as  'Please note I (Richard Titch Riley) is no longer involved with this event or the Little Black Pug bar' as the event info!

Simply put it's just not good enough, the weekender section and thus the event guide and then the site is being seriously damaged by these actions.

Do expect a certain standard of promotion for weekenders, as seen recently by some comments it can be expensive for members to attend such events and given the nature of such events, the promotion does need to be spot on

Action

The weekender section has now been set up for approval before publishing the criteria is simply no info, no show.

Members who use the weekend section event guide to promote weekenders and fail to provide relevant info or/and answer other members questions may find their event moved out to another section or put on hold or removed

Every event should have enough info for any member to plan to attend without going elsewhere.

Above is the bottom line for the weekender section!
