Moonlighters - Lonely Baby/Right On Brother strong Vg (plays with the odd light click mostly overpowered by recording, sound clip from actual 45 below) £200

One of the many rare and desirable 45s on this wonderful Indianapolis label and what double sider it is. ‘Lonely Baby’ will be known to many, a glorious and still very much in demand mid tempo group harmony cut that’s as popular with the Lowrider collectors as it is the Northern ones. Flip it for a bang on for now funk edged group dancer that’s had a few plays thanks to Mark White who for my money is one of the few still on top of his game.  Not the prettiest copy with some ring damage (see image) and a fair few marks but plays a strong Vg (sound clip below) and priced accordingly (had an Ex a while back that flew out at £400).

Great tune - I remember having the usual long winded discussion /negotiation with Mr. Barnfather at the Ritz Rarest of the rare nights in the 90's with this 45 as one of the objects of desire as we tried to get a deal over the line involving Changing Scene - When the city sleeps / Groovettes - ( I had both issue & demo ) / Pamella Beatty / Moonlighters. 

I can't remember what went his way only remember I came home with the Changing Scene which was the object of the deal anyway.

£200 looks a bargain despite condition.
