Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone out there knows who "Venson" was, a person credited with writing "Gimme Some Of Yours - I'll Give You Some Of Mine" along with Jo Armstead, performed by Rhetta Hughes. A Google search has failed to reveal anything.

Label scan here:

Discogs listing (and reason for asking) here:

https://www.discogs.com/release/902496

Thank you in anticipation!

Mike

I don't know who he is (I think he was just a writer who worked a bunch with Jo Armstead), but his name is James Louis Venson, he wrote a bunch of Jo Armstead / Giant tracks. If you search BMI, you'll see some of the other cuts he wrote.

James Lewis Venson (sometimes credited as Lewis or Louis Venson) wrote quite a few songs with Joshie Armstead, some recorded by Garland Green. "Gimme Some Of Yours..." is published by Josteady Music (USA and Canada) and Millbrand Music (EU).
