Gary Criss " Rio De Janeiro " ........ Top side .

All these mentions of Salsoul sides , but not a mention of one of the campest disco sides - if not the campest - ....... " Dance A Little Bit Closer " by Charo .

Camp it may be , but very evocotive of the era it came from .

The two named artists are pictured below : Charo is the one with the long blonde hair .....

Malc Burton

Yes. wasn't she a porn star or something? Like Andrea True? (as in "More, More, More on Buddah) "Dance..." was played at the Ritz Alldayers, along with Ripple, Cerrone - "Give Me Love" , Rice & Beans Orchestra etc. I remember 'em well!

Thanks for that. I had no idea he was Brazilian.

Mel,

Silvetti had no idea he was Brazilian either, because he was Argentinian mate !

Any good ones...its far easier to just say there wer'nt many bad ones, i have 7/8 salsoul cd compilations its a veritable history of dance music for the last 25 years, so many have be sampled and /or plagerised........and thats 'cause they were so good....if i'm honest too good for my developing tastes at the time...the years have given me today the abilioty to see just how good they were...and still are!!
