Soulfulsolutions
A wonderful pairing up for grabs today. Sound files available on request, PM any questions or to reserve. HOLD 1) Silhouettes – Not me baby – Goodway 101 Promo M- £2000 HOLD SOLD 2) The Original and New ‘58/68’ Silhouettes – Get a job – Goodway 100 Ex / Ex- £150 SOLD Here you go, a rare opportunity to acquire one, the other, or both of the Silhouettes’ vinyl outputs providing their Northern anthem “Not me baby”. It’s one thing to have one or the other, but to find both in the same place at the same time, not common at all, and made even more difficult by the unceremonious splitting up of this collectable Northern pairing to get the 45 to collectors and DJs over the intervening 55 years. Both were, I am told by the previous owner Stateside where the original coupling, residing with him for many of those years. The 45 of course was a promotional insert tucked away in the sleeve or shrink wrap of the album when it was released to reinvent this Philly doo-wop group. Known mainly for their 1958 chart topper “Get a job” the album tracks feature lead Bill Horton of Kayden label fame, but specifically “John Bootsie Wilson” as the brilliant vocal lead for the more up to date “Not me baby”, who unfortunately was another revered vocalist that slipped back into the same obscurity associated with so many unheralded non-commercial one hit wonders. The 45 is mint minus vinyl and immaculate mesmeric blue and green swirl labels. The LP is Ex vinyl and mint minus labels. The cover displays the usual innocuous corner dinks, a clean 3’’ seam split bottom right and a name in biro on the front bottom right, otherwise a fine piece of art. PayPal as friends or add 4% please or I can send bank details. Fully insured postage included. Overseas postage on request.
